What customers say?

“ Called in after work. Best chippy dinner I've had in years. Nice white fish, chips done to a T. Peas are the proper colour, I will be calling in again at that price. GOOD FOOD. ”

“ A outstanding fish and chip shop that sells locally produced goods, with a varied menu with fish cooked to order on your entrance to the shop. Recently taken over but run just as efficiently as the previous owners did. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Clean and bright and lovely tasty food served to your specific requirements. There afew tables and chairs to sit and eat if required or just to sit while you wait for your takeaway to be cooked. A cooler fridge supplies various brands of pop and juices to accompany your meal, nothing has really changed from when it first opened and the new proprietars seems to have carried on the tradition. Open 6 days a week, with a great selection of pies, fish cakes, sausage s and kebab meat and curry. You won't be disappointed, try for yourself, well worth a visit. ”

“ Great fish n chips. Good price aswell. Nothing to complain about. This will be our new go to place. Highly recommend ”

“ Since this chip shop has been taken over it has gone from the best in Swinton to the worst. Ordered large cod as usual got home and found I'd been given the thinnest piece of haddock I've ever seen. Quality has definitely gone down and is not value for money. Been back today 30/11/18 got my usual without telling them who I was, the large cod was back to the size it was when Carl had the shop, when I told them who I was they couldn't apologise enough and true to there word didn't charge for the cod which after eating it I could tell the quality was back. Definitely back to value for money. ”

“ I have been using Carl's for many years and through a change in management from the Irish couple to the Asian owners. I usually order in advance as i like my fish well done with chips and scraps all wrapped separately and they've always accommodated. Portion size is generous and can feed more than 1 person. It's practical for me as on the way home and always been able to park in front of the shop. Service is friendly and no fee for card payment. The quality of the food is good. Plenty of other options on the menu but have always stuck to the traditional fish and chips. I would recommend. ”

“ Better than your average chippy. The menu has choices for all & is reasonably extensive, they also have special offers. The prices are very reasonable & the staff are the most friendly around. If you're looking for a competitively price take away, with good quality food, look no further. ”

“ It's the first time tonight we've had them and I tell you now they was geougoues. Beautiful cod fish nice and tender. I'm not a lover of chips but I decided to had some and try them the chips which we had was so lovely. Recommend this fish shop to anyone. Best one we've been to so far.. Glad we've had some from there.. Deffo 5 star... ”
